Maroger, a traditional oil painting medium that provides luminosity, brilliance, and a buttery brush response. Mix Maroger into every pigment on your palette. A mayonnaise-like consistency is desired. Use more Maroger in the shadows (to add luminosity) than in the lighted areas (to retain opaqueness). Maroger can be applied as a "thin veil"; prior to the start of the painting session to bring up "sunk in" areas, for transparent effects and to achieve more fluid brush work.
